Description

Freycinetia rigidifolia Borneo

Freycinetia rigidifolia is a distinctive tropical climbing plant native to the rainforests of Borneo. It belongs to the genus Freycinetia, a group of plants closely related to Pandanus species within the Pandanaceae family.

In the wild, Freycinetia rigidifolia commonly grows along tree trunks, rocks, and forest surfaces where moisture and humidity remain consistently high. The plant develops aerial roots that allow it to attach itself to surrounding structures while gradually climbing upward through the vegetation. This growth strategy enables the plant to access filtered sunlight beneath the dense rainforest canopy.

The leaves may display a deep green color with a slightly textured surface, contributing to its ornamental appeal.Freycinetia rigidifolia Borneo Freycinetia rigidifolia Borneo
