Description

Bucephalandra Mini Needle Leaf 51 is one of the smallest and most distinctive members of the Bucephalandra genus. Its slender, needle-like leaves create a fine, delicate texture that few other aquatic plants can match. Deep green in color, the leaves develop a subtle iridescent sheen under aquarium LED lighting, adding quiet elegance to any planted tank.
Native to the fast-flowing rainforest streams of Borneo, this plant belongs to a group of rheophytic epiphytes that naturally anchor themselves to rocks and driftwood rather than root in soil. In the aquarium, it behaves the same way — attach the rhizome to hardscape using fishing line, thread, or aquarium-safe glue, and it slowly spreads across the surface in a creeping, low-growing pattern. Never bury the rhizome in substrate, as this causes it to rot.
Its miniature size makes Mini Needle Leaf 51 an exceptional choice for nano aquariums and detailed aquascape work. It fits naturally into tight spaces, crevices between rocks, and small pieces of driftwood where larger plants simply cannot go. The fine leaf texture also creates a striking contrast against broader-leaved plants, adding depth and complexity to any layout.
