Description
Nervilia sp. is a rare and fascinating plant for any terrarium or paludarium collection. Hobbyists prize this unique species for its striking foliage and compact growth habit. Unlike typical aquarium plants, Nervilia is a terrestrial orchid known for its single, often patterned leaf. Because of this unusual form, it adds real visual interest to any humid, planted display. Therefore, we highly recommend this plant if you want something truly different for your setup.
Our team at Borneo Aquatic carefully selects each specimen. First, we check its overall health and root condition. Then, we make sure it’s ready to settle into a new environment. Nervilia thrives in humid, well-ventilated terrariums rather than fully submerged tanks. Additionally, it appreciates bright, indirect lighting and a well-draining, slightly moist substrate. Good airflow is also important, since excess stagnant moisture can lead to rot.
Many enthusiasts love Nervilia sp. for its unusual leaf pattern and low, ground-hugging growth. However, this plant is naturally seasonal. As a result, it may die back and enter a dormant period before producing fresh growth again. This is a normal part of its life cycle, not a sign of poor health. Because of this, patience is key when caring for Nervilia. It pairs wonderfully with mosses, ferns, and other forest-floor plants to recreate a natural, tropical look. Finally, we take great pride in our secure, professional packaging. This way, your plant arrives fresh and ready for its new home.
