The 1000 Mangrove Planting Campaign by Borneo Aquatic has successfully planted 1,000 mangroves at Ujung Pandaran Beach, Teluk Sampit, East Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan. Held on Sunday, 9 August 2026, the campaign brought together the Borneo Aquatic team, 20 volunteers, local mangrove farmers, and community partners for a meaningful environmental initiative.

Giving Back to the Nature That Inspires Us

At Borneo Aquatic, our connection with nature goes beyond the plants we grow, trade, and share with people around the world.

We believe that being part of the plant and aquatic industry also comes with a responsibility to give something back to the environment that inspires us every day.

This belief led us to launch the 1000 Mangrove Planting Campaign, an initiative created to turn the support of our customers into a meaningful action for nature.

And on 9 August 2026, that commitment became a reality. 1,000 mangroves were successfully planted at Ujung Pandaran Beach.

Why Mangrove Planting Matters

Mangrove ecosystems are an important part of Indonesia’s coastal environment. They provide habitats for coastal and marine wildlife, support biodiversity, help protect shorelines, and contribute to the health of coastal ecosystems. Organizations like Mangrove Action Project have long highlighted how critical these ecosystems are for carbon storage and coastal protection worldwide.

For Borneo Aquatic, mangrove planting is more than simply planting trees. It is a step toward supporting coastal restoration and creating a healthier environment for future generations.

We know that 1,000 mangroves are only one small contribution to a much larger environmental challenge. But we believe that meaningful change begins with action. One seedling can become part of a forest. One action can inspire another.

From Customer Support to Real Environmental Impact

The 1000 Mangrove Planting Campaign would not have been possible without the support of our customers. Every purchase and every contribution helped turn this environmental initiative into a real action.

Although many of our customers could not be physically present at Ujung Pandaran, their support became an important part of this journey.

A Day of Planting and Learning

On planting day, the Borneo Aquatic team and committee were joined by 20 volunteers who came together at Ujung Pandaran Beach. Everyone took part in the mangrove planting activity, working side by side to plant the seedlings along the coastal area.

Before the planting began, local mangrove farmers from Teluk Sampit showed our team and volunteers how to properly plant mangrove seedlings. They demonstrated how to prepare the planting area and position the seedlings correctly so they could grow in the coastal environment.

This became one of the most meaningful parts of the day. We came to plant mangroves, but we also came to learn from the local people who understand and care for their coastal environment firsthand.

A Warm Welcome from Teluk Sampit

Our arrival at Ujung Pandaran was made even more special by the warm welcome from Teluk Sampit Village. The village community welcomed our team and volunteers with kindness and cooperation, helping make the planting activity a smooth and memorable experience.

We are sincerely grateful for their hospitality, support, and willingness to collaborate with us throughout the campaign. The experience reminded us that environmental conservation becomes even more meaningful when it brings people and communities together.

Support from the East Kotawaringin Regency Government

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the East Kotawaringin Regency Government for supporting the transportation for our campaign. Their support helped our team and volunteers reach Ujung Pandaran and made the journey to the planting site possible.

This campaign became a collective effort involving Borneo Aquatic, our customers, volunteers, local mangrove farmers, Teluk Sampit Village, and the East Kotawaringin Regency Government. Every contribution played a role in making the 1000 Mangrove Planting Campaign possible.

1,000 Mangroves Successfully Planted

After months of planning and preparation, 1,000 mangroves were successfully planted on Sunday, 9 August 2026, at Ujung Pandaran Beach.

For Borneo Aquatic, this is more than a number. It represents the time and energy of our team, the dedication of our volunteers, the knowledge shared by local farmers, the support of the local government and village community, and most importantly, the trust of our customers.
